Industrial Testing
Noise
in the Work Environment
Noise is a fact
of life and can permanently affect your hearing. Many work environments
expose workers to prolonged or excessive noise levels, ranging from
heavy equipment to the continuous hum of white noise. Hearing protection
may be required if the noise is loud and continuous enough to damage
hearing abilities.
Industrial Hearing Tests
Island Hearing provides comprehensive hearing testing and hearing conservation
programs for industrial, manufacturing, construction, transportation,
institutional, hospitality and retail clients. Working with both
the private and public sectors our Industrial Audiometric Technicians
are Workers Compensation Board (WCB) certified, fully trained and
experienced at performing hearing testing at your facility. We
perform testing in compliance with sections 7.1 through 7.23 of
the Workers’ Compensation Board Noise Regulation. These tests provide
a base line and annual hearing results that demonstrate how hearing
has changed over time and identify any significant change in hearing
abilities. Should a hearing loss be identified workers are referred
to their physicians for further cause and symptom analysis.
